Twitter site down for brief outage

Twitter stated on its status blog that its engineers were looking into what was going on in order to resolve the issue and that it had been resolved. However, this was not the case it seems as hours later Twitter removed the ‘resolved’ part of the statement. For many users Twitter was still working however as of 4pm yesterday Twitter said the problem was still there.
